OUR STORY
From the People Behind Oligatto
Hello — I'm Çerağ. An engineer, a mother, and the founder of Oligatto.
This brand began at home. My husband and young daughter both live with asthma, and we share our home with several cats. I noticed something simple: the dust from ordinary cat litter doesn't only settle on furniture — it lingers in the air, and in our lungs. Our cats weren't faring any better. Watery eyes, shallow breaths. The product meant to keep our home clean was quietly making everyone less well.
For years, I had been producing Orfion Olive Oil with our team. Every season, the pits met the same end — tons of them, burned as fuel, reduced to ash. That was simply the way it had always been done. In time, the pattern became impossible to overlook. The high-dust profile of conventional clay litters was precisely the material problem our byproduct could solve. Olive pits are inert by nature, naturally porous, dust-free by structure — absorbent without additives, soft on paws, kind to lungs. Two problems, one material, sitting on opposite sides of our own operation. We had been burning the answer.
That is how Oligatto began. Not as a product launch, but as a solution our family needed. Today we remain a small team with one intent: cat care that is safer for the cat, gentler on the home, and considerate of the earth.
